Paulina Barzycka
Paulina Barzycka (born March 18, 1986 in Lublin ) is a Polish swimmer .
Barzycka starts for the Orlik Lublin swimming club . The Polish champion over 100 m and 200 m freestyle achieved the bronze medal at the Junior European Championships in 2003 with the Polish relay over 4 × 100 m freestyle. At the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona , she reached the semi-finals over 100 m freestyle. In Athens at the 2004 Olympic Games , she reached the final in the 200 m freestyle on August 16 and was fourth on August 17, ahead of Franziska van Almsick and 17 hundredths of a second behind the bronze medal. At the European Swimming Championships in Budapest in 2006 , she won the silver medal as the final swimmer in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay.
With 55.42 seconds she holds the Polish record for the 100 m freestyle.
