Paulists
The Paulists or missionary priests of St. Paulus ( English " Paulist Fathers ", " Missonary Society of St. Paul the Apostle ", Latin : " Societas Sacerdotum Missionarum a Sancto Paulo ", abbreviation : CSP , for Congregatio Sancti Pauli ) are a Catholic religious order that was founded in 1858 was founded in New York by Isaac Thomas Hecker . They live and teach in the sense of Pauline theology .
The original aim of the Order was to spread the Catholic Faith in the United States . In addition, other goals soon emerged, such as work in the educational sector (especially at universities) and interdenominational cooperation. The order is a congregation of priests without vows. The little order is now represented in the United States and Canada . There are also branches in Rome and Jerusalem .
