Paulus Klautendorffer

Paulus Klautendorffer (* in the 16th century; † 1566 ) was a German hymn poet . He worked as a clergyman with the Bohemian Brethren , but died early. An evening song by him is known , which was printed in the brothers' hymn book of 1566. In another edition of the hymn book from 1639, the song is attributed to Klautendorffer for the first time. It was also printed in the fourth volume of Philipp Wackernagel's Das deutsche Kirchenlied from the earliest times to the beginning of the 17th century .
