Pavel Černý (born October 11, 1962 in Nové Město nad Metují ) is a former Czech football player .

Career

Pavel Černý played for Spartak Nové Město nad Metují in his youth. In 1979 the striker moved to Spartak Hradec Králové . He did his military service from 1981 to 1983 with the clubs VTJ Tábor, VTJ Jindřichův Hradec and VTJ Hodonín and then returned to Hradec Králové .

In 1987 Spartak was promoted to the first division and Pavel Černý scored eleven goals in 29 games in his first first division season. In the following season Černý met 13 times in 30 games, but could not prevent the relegation of his team. On September 5, 1989 he made his first of four international matches for the Czechoslovak national team . In early 1990 he was bought by the top club Sparta Prague and scored seven goals in 15 back-round matches. He was also successful in the following two years with eleven and 13 goals respectively. Overall, Pavel Černý made 125 games in the 1st Czechoslovak League, in which he scored 55 goals.

In 1992 Černý moved to the J. League at Sanfrecce Hiroshima with which he reached the final of the Japanese Championship in 1994. Sanfrecce lost to Verdy Kawasaki twice with 0: 1. In 1995, the now 32-year-old Černý returned to SK Hradec Králové and in 1995 won the Czech Cup . In the 1995/96 season he scored ten goals in 26 games.

In the following years, although used regularly, its hit rate fell noticeably. From 1996 to 2000 he only managed 12 goals. This year, the SK Hradec Králové rose to the 2nd division. There Černý, now 38 years old, was the oldest top scorer of all time with 17 goals in 29 games . Hradec Králové managed the immediate rise, Pavel Černý hung on for one more season and celebrated his departure from professional football on May 10, 2002 at the side of his 17-year-old son Pavel Černý junior .

Then Pavel Černý played for Atlantic Lázně Bohdaneč , Jiskra Hořice and FK Černilov.
