Pavlos Moutecidis
Pavlos N. Moutecidis ( Greek Παύλος Μουτεσίδης ; born November 11, 1930 in Drama ) is a Greek chess composer .
Chess composition
Moutecidis learned chess at the age of ten. When he was 19, he discovered the chess problems in the chess columns of daily newspapers edited by Spyros Bikos. After moving to Thessaloniki, he began to compose Orthodox chess problems. Later he specialized in self -mating tasks, initially two- move , later long-drawn-out tasks.
Moutecidis published more than 3000 chess problems of various genres. They are characterized by the economical use of the figures. From 1967 to 1975 he worked frequently with Yevgeny Sorokin. The Metaxa composition tournaments he advertises at the annual PCCC meetings are legendary .
In 1984 he became International Master in Chess Composition .

Life
Moutecidis trained as a civil engineer at the Technical University of Thessaloniki and worked in this profession until his retirement. He is married and has three daughters.
