Pavel Flegontowitsch Saposhnikov

Pawel Flegontowitsch Saposchnikow ( Russian Павел Флегонтович Сапожников ; * 1897 in Kansk; † May 26, 1937 ) was a Soviet philosopher who fell victim to the Stalinist purges .

Saposhnikov was rector of Voronezh State University from 1929 to 1931 . On April 16, 1933, he was sentenced to three years in prison. He was arrested again on December 30, 1936, sentenced to death on May 25, 1937, and shot the following day.
