Pawel Petrovich Liprandi ( Russian Павел Петрович Липранди ; January 15, 1796 , † August 27, 1864 ) was a Russian general .

Life

Pavel Petrovich Liprandi fought against the Grande Armée in 1812 during the Russian campaign . Later he took part in the persecution of Napoleon to Paris . He fought in the Russo-Turkish War of 1828/29 and in the Polish-Russian War of 1830/31 .

General Liprandi took part in the Crimean War in 1854/55 . There he commanded the 12th Infantry Division defending Sevastopol . Liprandi commanded the troops of the Russian army at the Battle of Balaklava on October 25, 1854 . However, he was only responsible for the execution of the battle plan, not for its formulation. In the further course of the war he took over command of an army corps . In the battle of Chernaya he commanded the left wing.
