Pchelka Island ( English ; Russian Остров Пчёлка Ostrow Ptscholka , German 'Bee Island ' ) is an irregularly shaped and up to 69 m high island off the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . It belongs to the group of the Rauer Islands and is 3.3 km northeast of the northeastern extension of Ranvik Island .
Scientists on a Soviet Antarctic expedition mapped it and named it in 1956. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia transcribed this name in 1991 in a partial translation into English.
