Louis-Marie Baader
Louis-Marie Baader (born June 20, 1828 in Lannion , † December 2, 1920 in Morlaix ) was a French genre and history painter .
life and work
Louis-Marie Baader was born the son of a German musician and his wife of Norman origin. His father served in the regiment of Count Jacques Boudin de Tromelin.
Supported by the Count, Louis-Marie studied from 1848 at the Paris École des beaux-arts with Adolphe Yvon .
After graduating, he first dealt with church and portrait painting, later with history and mythological painting. Even later he created genre pictures and paintings on a military theme.
From 1857 to 1907 he took part in art exhibitions and received medals in 1866 and 1874. He remained single all his life. He was buried in the Saint-Charles cemetery in Morlaix.
