Lannion ( Breton Lannuon ) is a French commune with 19,880 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). It lies in the region of Bretagne and Côtes-d'Armor . Lannion is the capital of the Arrondissement of Lannion and the canton of Lannion .
geography
The city is located on the banks of the Léguer River , which flows into the English Channel in a nine-kilometer-long estuary below the city .

- The Ya d'ar brezhoneg Charter was approved by the city council on October 23, 2006.
- At the start of school in 2008, 362 students (5.32% of the total number of students) were enrolled in the bilingual course.
Economy and Infrastructure
Lannion station on the branch line from Plouaret is served by trains of the TER Bretagne regional transport company and individual TGVs. The Lannion-Côte de Granit Airport is located four kilometers north-west of Lannion. The site is also one of the land points for the Apollo transatlantic fiber optic cable .
