Plestin-les-Greves (Breton: Plistin ) is a commune with 3591 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in Côtes-d'Armor in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Lannion and the canton of Plestin-les-Grèves , of which it is the capital.
geography
Plestin-les-Greves is the westernmost municipality in the Côtes-d'Armor department. It is located on the English Channel coast, in the Baie de Lannion , around 150 kilometers northwest of Rennes and 70 kilometers northeast of Brest . Plestin-les-Grèves lies with its northern part on a peninsula, which is surrounded in the west by the bay of Locquirec and in the east by the bay of Grève de Saint Michel . Beyond the Baie de Locquirec is the town of Locquirec , beyond the Grève de Saint Michel is the town of Saint-Michel-en-Grève . In the west, the municipality borders on the neighboring Finistère department . The community center of Plestin-les-Grèves itself is about three kilometers from the coastline.
Immediate neighboring communities in the southern part are:
- Tréduder in the east,
- Plufur in the southeast,
- Trémel in the south,
- Plouégat-Guérand to the west and
- Guimaëc in the northwest.
At the southwestern municipal boundary, the Douron river flows into the deeply cut bay of Baie de Locquirec , and the Yar river runs along the eastern municipal boundary and flows into the Grève de Saint Michel bay . The middle section is drained by the Dour Meur brook .
Transport links
The community is only accessed from the D786 département road, which leads from Morlaix to Lannion .

In February 2016, Plestin-les-Grèves was one of 13 municipalities that belonged to level 3 of the Charter Ya d'ar brezhoneg for the promotion of the Breton language.
