The canton of Plestin-les-Grèves (Breton canton Plistin ) is a canton in the arrondissement of Lannion in the French department of Côtes-d'Armor in Brittany . Its main town is Plestin-les-Grèves .

history

The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, nine municipalities belonged to the canton of Plestin-les-Grèves, which until 1884 was called the canton of Plestin. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 17. In addition to the previous nine communes of the old canton of Plestin-les-Grèves, 7 of the 9 communes of the previous canton of Plouaret and 1 commune from the canton of Lannion were added.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, André Coënt (PS) / Claudine Le Bastard (PCF) won against Edwige Kerboriou / Jean-François Le Gall (both DVD ) with a share of the vote of 52.28% (turnout: 58.05 %).
