The canton Broons (Breton: canton Bronn ) is a French administrative unit in the arrondissements of Dinan and Saint-Brieuc , in the department of Côtes-d'Armor and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Broons .
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, nine municipalities belonged to the canton of Broons. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 26. In addition to the previous nine communes in the old canton of Broons, all 8 communes in the previous canton of Caulnes and all 9 communes in the canton of Merdrignac were added.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the three voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Mickaël Chevalier (UDI) / Isabelle Goré-Chapel (DVD) won against Pascal Bouillon / Monique Leclerc (both PS) and Odile de Mellon / Pierre-Marie Launay (both FN ) with a share of the vote of 44.33% (turnout: 59.30%).
