La Chapelle-Blanche ( Breton Ar Chapel-Wenn ; Gallo La Chapèll-Blaunch ) is a municipality in the Bretagne region , in the Côtes-d'Armor department with 206 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in France .
The residents call themselves chapellois or chapelloises.
geography
La Chapelle-Blanche is located in the southeast of the department on the border with the Ille-et-Vilaine department . Neighboring municipalities are Saint-Jouan-de-l'Isle in the west, Caulnes in the northwest, Guitté in the northeast, Médréac in the east and Quédillac in the south. The municipality is located 22 km south of the city of Dinan . The Rance River flows through the municipality .
history
It is not known exactly when the place was settled. He was first mentioned by name in the 12th century. Until the construction of the Pont de L'Isle towards Saint-Jouan-de-l'Isle, the community was very isolated. In 1577 the settlement became its own parish. The municipality belonged to the Broons district and the Caulnes canton from 1793 to 1801. In 1801 the district was dissolved and the canton of Saint-Jouan-de-l'Isle, to which the municipality belonged, was created in place of the canton of Caulnes. Since December 1881 Caulnes has been the capital of the Caulnes canton again.
