Saint-André-des-Eaux ( Breton Sant-Andrev-an-Dour ) is a French commune with 339 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Côtes-d'Armor department in the Brittany region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dinan and the Canton of Lanvallay . The residents call themselves Saint Andréens / Saint Andréennes , sometimes Andréanais (es) .
geography
Saint-André-des-Eaux is located about 31 kilometers south of Saint-Malo and about 37 kilometers northwest of Rennes in the east of the Côtes-d'Armor department.
history
On September 7, 1840 there was an exchange of territory with the neighboring municipality of Évran . The parish was part of the Dinan District from 1793 to 1801. It was also part of the canton of Évran from 1793 to 2015 . Since 1801, Saint-André-des-Eaux has been administratively assigned to the Arrondissement of Dinan. First mention of Saint-André-des-Eaux as Sanctus Andreas at the end of the 14th century. During the French Revolution, the municipality was called André des Eaux.

The increasing mechanization of agriculture and the high number of those who died in the First World War led to a drop in the number of inhabitants to the lows of recent times.
