Chapel of the Vieux Bourg de Pléhérel
The municipality was called Pléhérel until 1972. From 1972 to 2004 it was merged with the neighboring municipality of Plévenon under the common name of Fréhel . After the places were again separated into two independent municipalities, the former municipality Pléhérel kept the name Fréhel, the other part of the municipality returned to its former name Plévenon. To complete the confusion, the well-known Cap Fréhel is now in the municipality of Plévenon about eight kilometers northwest of Fréhel.
The main town is not directly on the coast. The two coastal settlements and seaside resorts of Sables-d'Or-les-Pins and Pléhérel-Plage-Vieux-Bourg , which belong to the municipality, are particularly interesting from a tourist point of view .
Besides the Cap Fréhel, the Fort la Latte is also worth seeing .
