Langrolay-sur-Rance ( Langorlae in Breton ) is a French commune with 925 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Côtes-d'Armor department in the Brittany region . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dinan and the Canton of Pleslin-Trigavou . The residents call themselves Langrolaisiens / Langrolaisiennes .
geography
Langrolay-sur-Rance is located at the dammed mouth of the Rance , about nine kilometers south of Saint-Malo in the north-east of the Côtes-d'Armor department.
history
Founded as a hermitage by a Gourlae, it grew into a place in the following centuries. The parish belonged to the Dinan district from 1793 to 1801. It has been part of the Dinan arrondissement since 1801. And from 1793 to 1973 and from 1983 to 2015 it was a municipality in the Canton of Ploubalay . Until 1970 it was called Langrolay. From 1973 to 1983 Langrolay-sur-Rance was incorporated in Plouër-sur-Rance .
