The canton Paimpol (Breton Canton Pempoull ) is a French canton in the arrondissement Guingamp and Saint-Brieuc , in Côtes-d'Armor , in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Paimpol .
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, seven municipalities belonged to the canton of Paimpol. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 10. In addition to the 7 communes of the old canton of Paimpol, 3 of the 5 communes of the previous canton of Plouha were added.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the pairing Jean-Yves de Chaisemartin / Monique Nicolas (both UDI) won against Éric Bothorel / Martine Le Morvan (both Union de la Gauche) with a share of the vote of 50.13% (voter turnout: 56, 19%).
