The canton of Plérin (Breton canton Plerin ) is a French canton in the arrondissement of Saint-Brieuc , in the department of Côtes-d'Armor and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Plérin .
history
The canton only came into being in 1982. From 1982 to 2015, three communities belonged to the canton of Plérin. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 4. In addition to the previous 3 communes of the old canton of Plérin, the commune of Tréméloir of the previous canton of Châtelaudren was added. On January 1, 2016, this merged with the municipality of Pordic.

politics
In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Alain Cadec / Monique Le Vée (both Union de la droite) won against Ronan Kerdraon / Andrée Kerleguer-Viougea (both PS) with a share of the vote of 50.25% (turnout: 63.40 %).
