The canton Lannion (Breton: canton Lannuon ) is a French canton in the arrondissement Lannion , in the department of Côtes-d'Armor and in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Lannion .

history

The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, five municipalities belonged to the canton of Lannion. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of municipalities fell to 3. The municipality of Caouënnec-Lanvézéac moved to the canton of Bégard , the municipality of Ploubezre to the canton of Plestin-les-Grèves .

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the six voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Claudine Féjean (PCF) / Patrice Kervaon (PS) won against Sylvie Jehanno / Jean-Yves Roué (both Divers droite) with a share of the vote of 62.14% (turnout: 49.78%) ).
