The canton Plénée-Jugon (Breton canton Plened-Yugon ) is a French canton in the arrondissement of Saint-Brieuc , in the department of Côtes-d'Armor , in the region of Brittany ; its main town is Plénée-Jugon .

history

The canton was created with the reorganization of the cantons in France in 2015. The communes used to belong to the cantons of Collinée (6 communes), Jugon-les-Lacs (6 communes), Moncontour (5 communes) and Plouguenast (1 commune). On January 1, 2016, on the one hand, Dolo and Jugon-les-Lacs merged to form the new municipality of Jugon-les-Lacs-Commune-Nouvelle and on the other hand, Collinée, Langourla, Le Gouray, Plessala, Saint-Gilles-du-Mené, Saint-Gouéno and Saint-Jacut-du-Mené to form the new municipality of Le Mené . Thus the number of municipalities is only 11 today.

The canton is located in the eastern center of the Côtes-d'Armor department.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the three voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, Monique Haméon / Didier Yon (both Divers gauche) won against Florence Corbel / Sylvain Oréal (both DVD ) with 54.61% of the votes (turnout: 57.57%).
