Plestan is a French commune with 1,598 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in Brittany and belongs to the Côtes-d'Armor department . The municipality belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Brieuc and the canton of Plénée-Jugon (until 2015: canton of Jugon-les-Lacs ). The inhabitants are called Plestanais .
geography
Plestan is located about 25 kilometers east-southeast of Saint-Brieuc . Plestan is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Noyal in the north, Saint-Rieul in the northeast, Plédéliac in the east and northeast, Jugon-les-Lacs in the east, Tramain in the southeast, Plénée-Jugon in the south, La Malhoure in the west and southwest and Lamballe-Armor with Lamballe to the west and northwest. The municipality's train station is on the Paris – Brest railway line . The National Route 12 runs through the municipality .
