The canton Rostrenen (Breton: Kanton Rostrenenn ) is a French canton in the arrondissement of Guingamp , in the department of Côtes-d'Armor and in the region of Brittany ; its main place is Rostrenen .
history
The canton was established on February 15, 1790. From 1801 to 2015, six municipalities belonged to the Rostrenen canton. With the reorganization of the cantons in France, the number of communes rose to 29 in 2015. In addition to the previous 6 communes of the old canton Rostrenen, all 8 communes of the previous canton of Gouarec , all 8 communes of the canton Maël-Carhaix and 7 of the 8 communes of the canton Saint were included -Nicolas-du-Pélem added.

In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the four voting pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the team Alain Guéguen / Sandra Le Nouvel (both PS) won against Annick Gaudron / Christian Gautier (both DVD) with a share of the vote of 66.31% (turnout: 54.22%).
