Glomel ( Breton : Groñvel ) is a French municipality with 1,380 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Côtes-d'Armor in the region of Brittany ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Guingamp and the canton of Rostrenen . The municipality belongs to the communal association Communauté de communes du Kreiz-Breizh . The inhabitants are called Glomelois .
geography
Glomel is about 57 kilometers southwest of Saint-Brieuc . The Canal de Nantes à Brest runs through the municipality . Glomel is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Maël-Carhaix in the north, Kergrist-Moëlou in the northeast, Rostrenen in the east, Mellionec in the southeast, Plouray in the south, Lagonnet in the west and southwest and Paule in the west. Route nationale 164 runs through the northern part of the municipality .
