Callac ( Breton: Kallag) is a French commune with 2,213 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Côtes-d'Armor department in the Brittany region . It belongs to the arrondissement of Guingamp and the canton of Callac , of which it is the capital.
geography
The community is located around 30 kilometers southwest of Guingamp and 20 kilometers northeast of Carhaix-Plouguer . The neighboring municipalities of Callac are:
- La Chapelle-Neuve in the north,
- Bulat pestivia in the northeast,
- Saint-Servais in the southeast,
- Duault in the south,
- Plusquellec in the southwest and
- Calanhel in the northwest.
The place itself lies in the south of the municipality, on the left bank of the river Hyère , which provides for the drainage of the area to the Aulne .
Transport links
The community is mainly served by the D787 département road, which runs from Guingamp via Callac to Carhaix-Plouguer . A railway line with a train station in Callac also runs in the same relation .
