It belongs to the arrondissement of Guingamp and the canton of Rostrenen . In addition, the place is a member of the community association Kreiz-Breizh founded in 1993 . The inhabitants are called Tréphinois (es) .

Sainte-Tréphine is located about 39 kilometers southwest of Saint-Brieuc in the southwest of the Côtes-d'Armor department on the Sulon River .
