Plouvara ( Breton : Plouvara ) is a French municipality with 1,147 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Côtes-d'Armor in the region of Brittany . It belongs to the arrondissement of Guingamp and the canton of Plélo .

Plouvara is surrounded by the municipalities of Plélo in the north, Plerneuf in the east, Saint-Donan in the south and Boqueho in the southwest.
