Location of the association of municipalities in the Brittany region

The Lannion-Trégor Communauté is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the Département Côtes-d'Armor , the administrative seat of which is in Lannion . Its catchment area is in the west of the department. The community association founded on September 12, 2016 consists of 57 communities.

Historical development

The community association was founded on January 1, 2003 under the name Communauté d'agglomération de Lannion-Trégor (CALT) on a smaller scale with twenty communities . Five years later it was renamed Lannion-Trégor Agglomération . On January 1, 2014, the number of members increased to 30 when the eight municipalities of the Beg ar C'hra Communauté and the municipality of Perros-Guirec joined. At the same time, the municipality association was given the current name Lannion-Trégor Communauté . On January 5, 2015, the eight communities of the previous Communauté de communes du Center Trégor were added.

With effect from January 1, 2017, the community association merged with the Communauté de communes du Haut Trégor and the Communauté de communes de la Presqu'île de Lézardrieux and was founded as a new community association under the same name with now 60 communities.

On January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of La Roche-Derrien , Hengoat , Pommerit-Jaudy and Pouldouran formed the Commune nouvelle La Roche-Jaudy . This reduced the number of member communities to 57.

Tasks of the community association

Since the majority of the municipalities are very small and have mayors (maires) as a secondary office, the communauté is responsible for various tasks of the municipalities involved. There are commissions led by the president and vice-presidents of the community association (general business, projects and finances // economy, employment, tourism, secondary schools, research, education and innovations // drinking water, sewage disposal, waste collection and disposal, road construction and maintenance / / Housing construction, surroundings, real estate, local development and change of residence // Environmental protection and energy // Sports, culture and public purchases / facilities) that perform supraregional tasks.
