history
The place is mentioned for the first time indirectly in an agreement between a bishop and a duke in matters relating to the hamlet of Ville-Blanche (ceded to Rospez in 1839). The place is directly mentioned at the canonization of Saint-Yves in 1330 ( Tresizni municipality ).
Population development
The community has never been one of the most populous places in the region. Between 1793 and 1831 it lost a lot of residents (1793-1831: - 25.8%). This was followed by a strong growth phase lasting two decades (1831-1851: + 74.9%). The year 1851 was also the year of the highest population. In the five following years, many residents emigrated - but the number of residents partially recovered in the growth phase from 1856 to 1866. In the following 106 years there was a permanent decline in population due to emigration (1866-1968: -61.4%). The limit of 200 inhabitants was undercut. The two growth phases from 1975 to 1990 and since 2008 led to a marked increase in the number of residents (1975-2013: + 96.3%).
