Population development

The place has always been a community with a small population. In the forty years between 1806 and 1846 the population grew to a peak (1806-1846: + 58%). The number of residents fell slightly by 1901 - but remained above the 300 person mark. Afterwards it sank to the low point of 145 inhabitants in 1982 (1901-1982: -55%) due to several waves of emigration. Since then, the population has increased slightly again.
