The Douron is a coastal river in France that runs in the Brittany region . It rises in the Armorique Regional Nature Park , in the municipality of Scrignac , generally drains in a northerly direction and flows into the English Channel after around 28 kilometers just below the hamlet of Le Vieux Châtel , in the municipality of Plestin-les-Grèves . The subsequent, about five kilometers long bay of the Ria type reaches the open sea at Locquirec . On its way, the Douron crosses the Finistère department and, in its lower reaches, forms the border with the neighboring Côtes-d'Armor department .
