genetics

Pearl (Prl / prl) was only recently discovered in the United States . Pearl is inherited recessively, that is, in animals that only have it once, the allele is not expressed. In homozygous form, it brightens the fur in a similar way to cream genes in heterozygous form.

Races

Pearl has been found in Pasos , Tinkers , Iberian horse breeds such as Lusitanos , PRE and Andalusians , as well as in Paint Horses and American Quarter Horses , especially horses descended from Barlink Macho Man . This stallion was initially named after the mutation, which in the USA was first called Barlink Factor and later Apricot . Today we have agreed on Pearl for all horse breeds.
