Hugo von Zeipel
Edvard Hugo von Zeipel (born February 8, 1873 in Österhaninge near Stockholm , † June 8, 1959 in Uppsala ) was a Swedish astronomer .
He worked at the Stockholm Observatory from 1897 to 1900 , and at the Pulkowo Observatory from 1901 to 1902 . From 1904 to 1906 he was a member of the staff of the Paris observatory and from 1911 he worked at the Uppsala Astronomical Observatory . His areas of expertise were celestial mechanics , astrophotography and theoretical astrophysics .
He is said to have treated the Kozai effect , known since the 1960s, as early as 1910 .
In 1898, 1901 and 1902 he took part in scientific expeditions to Spitzbergen .
Edvard Hugo von Zeipel is the namesake of the Zeipel crater on Earth's moon and the Zeipel asteroid (8870) discovered on March 6, 1992 .
