Titus Caesernius Statianus
Titus Caesernius Statius Quinctius Statianus Memmius Macrinus (* approx. 105) was a Roman politician , senator and friend of the emperor Hadrian .
Statianus came from Aquileia and was the son of the knight Titus Caesernius Macedo , who was procurator of Mauretania Caesariensis in 107 , and the Rutilia Prisca Sabiniana. His brother was Titus Caesernius Quinctianus , a suffect consul around 138.
Like his brother Statianus was supported by Hadrian and held the early 130s annual Bursary and tribune as a candidate of the Emperor, whom he earlier (around the year 129) and comes had accompanied the Orient. A mission to recruit recruits took him to Transpadana in northern Italy around 134 (missus ad dilectum iuniorum a divo Hadriano in the region of Transpadanam) .
According to his legacy of legio XIIII Martia Victrix , Statianus was legio of legio III Augusta in Numidia between approx. 138 and 141 . It was during this time that he became the patron saint of the cities of Timgad and Cirta ; in Cirta he received a public statue as an honor. After all, Statianus was a suffect consul in 141. His (partially preserved) name has been added to an (incompletely preserved) military diploma dated 141. He presumably held this office from September 1 to the end of October. Around 150 he was governor of Germania superior . A military diploma shows that he was governor of the province of Britannia in 152/153 .
Statianus was sodalis Augustalis (imperial priest), probably still under Hadrian.
