Taylor Michel Momsen (born July 26, 1993 in St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American actress , singer and model . She was best known for the role of Jenny Humphrey in the television series Gossip Girl and is the lead singer of the rock band The Pretty Reckless .

Life

Taylor Momsen is the daughter of Collette and Michael Momsen and the older sister of Sloane Momsen, who is also an actress, and a brother, Joshua Momsen. Her father was the vice president of an electrical company.

Momsen got her first acting experience in a commercial for the company Shake 'N' Bake at the age of three. She then played the role of Honey Bee Swan in the 1999 film The Prophet's Game on the side of Dennis Hopper . In 2000 she played the role of Cindy Lou Who in The Grinch . The Pretty Reckless

In 2009 Momsen founded the alternative rock band "The Reckless", which later had to be renamed The Pretty Reckless . Musically, the band relies heavily on blues rock influences and classic hard rock. The band went on tour in 2009 with lead vocalist Taylor Momsen, Ben Philips on guitar, Mark Damon on bass and Jamie Perkins on drums. In 2009 they supported The Veronicas on their North American tour. Taylor Momsen is currently the only member of the original line-up.
