A second special feature of this utility horse is its character: people-friendly, intelligent and willing to learn, easy to lead and pleasant to deal with. An important breeding goal is a certain liveliness under the saddle and a pronounced will to walk, called "Brio".
These three main traits, gait and character and brio, allow the breed to be used and used in many ways. The Paso Fino is suitable for comfortable trail riding, for sporty endurance riding, for therapy, for driving a carriage, and to a certain extent also for western riding.
