Peau de soie

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peau de soie ( French for "silk skin") is a firm, smooth fabric, originally made of silk , now sometimes made of synthetic fibers. Unlike satin , for example , peau de soie is usually woven in body weave or even grosgrain weave, which creates a medium-weight and firm, and therefore very resistant, silk fabric. However, since it is a non-protected and not widely used name, fabrics with this name can also be found with a satin or satin weave.
