The Pedalling Ice Field (English for cycling ice field ) is a glacier field made of blue ice in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Head Mountains , it is immediately south of Mount DeWitt and Mount Littlepage on the edge of the polar plateau .
The name, recognized by the New Zealand Geographic Board since 1995 , is intended to commemorate the use of bicycles for glacier mapping by a team under the direction of New Zealand glaciologist Trevor J. H. Chinn (* 1937) in this area between 1992 and 1993.
