Pedellhaus (Ingolstadt)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Pedellhaus

The Pedellhaus is an essentially medieval secular building in Ingolstadt . The two-storey plastered building has a stepped gable that was added after 1573. The name goes back to the alleged use of the building as the residence of the Pedell , an organizational assistant at the University of Ingolstadt . In the 1980s, the Pedellhaus was renovated, with renovations mainly being carried out inside the building. Today, the Pedellhaus houses the Niemes-Prachatitz local history museum, a collection from the town of Niemes in northern Bohemia and the Prachatitz district in the Bohemian Forest , for which the town of Ingolstadt took over the sponsorship after the Second World War.
