Pedro Albéniz
Pedro Albéniz (born April 14, 1795 in Logroño , † April 12, 1855 in Madrid ) was a Spanish pianist and composer. He is not related to Isaac Albéniz . Albeniz is considered to be the founder of modern piano playing in Spain .
biography
Pedro Albéniz began his studies with his father, Mateo Albéniz , an important church musician in Spain. This promoted his studies in Paris , where Pedro was tutored by Kalkbrenner and Henri Herz . He also received musical advice from Gioachino Rossini .
After working for a short time as organist in the church of Santa María and as conductor in San Sebastian , he became professor of piano at the Conservatory of Madrid in 1830 . In 1834 he became Queen Isabella's piano teacher .
