Peebles Castle is an Outbound hill Burg (moth) in Peebles in the Scottish management unit Scottish Borders .
Peebles was in the 12th century by King I. David to the Royal Burgh made. The castle from the same period was a wooden moth . It was probably destroyed by Edward Balliol's troops in the course of the Scottish Wars of Independence around 1334 .
Today nothing remains of the building, only the natural mound on which it stood. It came into possession of the city of Peebles in the 15th century.
