Peer mediation

Peer mediation is an educational method for dealing with and resolving conflicts between peers (mostly students ). The method is also known under the name of dispute mediators, although this name does not express the fact that students solve the conflicts themselves.

The peer mediation based on the fact that students with each other, within the peer group , frequent and uncomplicated talk to one another. They would not easily tell a teacher of certain problems and conflicts.

In order to enable peer mediation at a school , some students must first be trained as mediators. This can only be done on a voluntary basis.

Like the class council , peer mediation is a building block in the school effort to give students more responsibility and to teach democracy .
