Pelosina is a genus of shell-bearing, marine unicellular organisms from the group of foraminifera .
features
The housings are free, elongated, filiform to almost cylindrical and taper towards the aperture . The wall is thick and agglutinated, so it is composed of layers of fine, occasionally larger particles from the sediment on the carrier material of the wall.
A solid layer of organic origin lines the interior and protrudes from the aperture. It is branched like a tree and can also emerge at the base of the housing, where it also branches out rhizome-like in various ways and ensures anchoring in the ground.
Pelosina is found worldwide.
