Peltodytes rotundatus is a beetle from the family of water treaders (Haliplidae).

features

The beetles look very similar to the oval water treadmill ( Peltodytes caesus ), but differ from this species by their significantly shorter and almost round body shape. The wings are only slightly longer than they are wide.

Occurrence and way of life

The species is distributed in the Mediterranean from Portugal, Spain, Sardinia, Sicily, Corsica, mainland Italy via Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia to Albania and Greece as well as France.
