Peltuinum was an ancient city in Italy in the municipality of Prata d'Ansidonia , about 20 km east of the city of L'Aquila .

The inhabitants of the city belonged to the Vestinians . In Roman times, Peltuinum was a municipality that was on the Via Claudia Nova and belonged to the 4th Augustan region .

The city wall enclosed an area of ​​approx. 22 hectares. The remains of the city wall, a city gate, the amphitheater , a theater and a temple presumably dedicated to Apollo are still visible today .

The senator and general Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo came from Peltuinum .
