Prata d'Ansidonia is a municipality ( comune ) in the Abruzzo region and the province of L'Aquila in Italy and has (as of December 31, 2019) 463 inhabitants. The municipality is located about 19.5 kilometers east-southeast of L'Aquila and belongs to the Comunità montana Campo Imperatore-Piana di Navelli .

history

The remains of the Roman city of Peltuinum are in the municipality. The present-day town was not built or founded until the 13th century, when the ancient city had long since fallen into desolation.
