Trasacco is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 6,072 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo . The municipality is located about 46 kilometers south-southeast of L'Aquila at the foot of the Fucino .
etymology
The name of the settlement comes from the Latin trans acquas (over the water) and describes the location of the ancient Marruvian , which was in the area of Lake Fucin.
history
In ancient times the village ( vicus ) was known as the Supinum or maybe Supinas and belonged to the territory of the Martians . Two dedicatory inscriptions that have survived here testify to the Martian language .
Inscriptions testify that the village was in the middle of the 1st century BC at the latest. Chr. Had a theater . The completion was celebrated with a two-day festival.
