Alfedena is an Italian municipality with 917 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo . It is 188 kilometers east of Rome and 118 kilometers southeast of L'Aquila .
geography
Alfedena is located in the valley of the Rio Torto, just before its confluence with the Sangro . A large part of the municipality belongs to the Abruzzo, Latium and Molise National Park . It is a member of the Comunità Montana Alto Sangro Cinque Miglia .
The neighboring towns are Barrea , Montenero Val Cocchiara ( IS ), Picinisco ( FR ), Pizzone (IS) and Scontrone .
