Calascio is an Italian commune ( comune ) in the province of L'Aquila in the Abruzzo region with (as of December 31, 2019) 136 inhabitants. The municipality is located about 24.5 kilometers east-southeast of L'Aquila in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park , belongs to the Comunità montana Campo Imperatore-Piana di Navelli and borders the province of Teramo .

The center of the village is of Norman origin and was already documented in 816 in a document from Louis the Pious .
