Civita d'Antino is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 966 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo . The municipality is located about 52 kilometers south-southeast of L'Aquila and belongs to the Comunità montana Valle Roveto . The Liri forms the western boundary of the municipality.

The Strada Statale 690 Avezzano-Sora from Avezzano to Sora runs through the municipality along the Liris . Together with the neighboring municipality of Morino, there is the Civita d'Antino Morino train station in the Scalo district on the railway line from Avezzano to Roccasecca .
history
In antiquity , the city ( Oppidum ) was known as Antinum , which is attested in inscriptions with the resident name Antinates, and was located in the territory of the Martians .
The city wall in polygonal masonry , remains of which are still preserved, covered about 15 hectares and was probably built in the 5th century BC. After the Confederate War and in the Roman Empire , Antinum was assigned to a Municipium and the Tribus Sergia .
A bronze plaque with a dedicatory inscription from around 150 BC comes from the ancient Antinum . BC originated. The heavily Latinized language was developed by Vetter as Volskisch considered, but also as latinized today due to the locality Marsisch viewed.
